As a result of the recent bad weather across the country, on the heels of the holiday season, the blood supply has drastically decreased in the Carolinas Region. Type O negative and type B negative blood supplies have dropped to emergency levels and help is needed now! Since type O negative blood can be used for any patient when there is not time to determine the patient’s blood type, it is crucial that there is a sufficient supply.

John Owen, Chairman of Voice of Moore County, Ltd. announced that he, together with his partners, Jim McGillan, President and Charlie Holbrook, Executive Vice President, have launched a new, non-partisan website called the Voice of Moore County that can be accessed on the internet at either www.voiceofmoorecounty.com or www.vomc.com. Mr. Owen explained that, “We started the “Voice” to provide a web based forum for people to discuss issues and share ideas of interest to the general public. Also, we hope to encourage folks to provide feedback to their elected represen-tatives on issues that are important to them. This web site will provide the people of Moore County and North Carolina with a fresh perspective on a wide variety of subjects. The articles and stories on the “Voice” will provide many different points of view, some entertaining and enlightening and others thought provoking.”
Jim McGillan said that his hope is, “that many Moore County residents will share their talents, ideas and viewpoints with oth-er viewers by submitting articles for publi-cation on our web site.” He added that, “Some of our viewers are retired and have more time to share ideas and debate issues. Based upon their varied life experiences, they are in a position to discuss and inform people concerning topics of great interest today such as economics, health care, military tactics and strategies, State and National politics and, of course, outdoor sports, especially golf, hunting, fishing, hiking, and equestrian activities. Charlie Holbrook noted that “all submis-sions will be subject to review by our edito-rial board to ensure civility without suppressing freedom of expression.” Some of our writers will be selected by invitation. The goal of the “Voice”, he said, is “to make our website a place where people can read about subjects that are informative, helpful or simply entertaining.” He also invited people to look at the various topics and pull down menus to find areas where they might contribute their expertise in writing on a given subject. Viewers also can use the helpful Links button to research other subjects. For further information on advertising on the Voice,
