Deep in the peach-growing country of Western Moore County, not too far from Highway 73 and world-famous potteries, is the agrarian community of Eagle Springs. Settled in 1890, the town was established with the help of the railroad and named for a spring at nearby Eagle branch. Similar to West End, Eagle Springs was a stop on the former Aberdeen and Asheboro Railroad Line. Today, the quaint area serves as a trading center and offers a pleasant rural personality so often thought of as the heart and soul of southern hospitality.
