Settled in 1890, Eagle Springs received its name for a spring at nearby Eagle Branch. This small community, deep in the peach growing country of Western Moore County, has the railroad to thank for its beginning. Similar to West End, Eagle Springs was a stop on the former Aberdeen and Asheville Railroad Line. Today, Eagle Springs, once called Pharsala, is now a trading center offering a pleasant rural personality so often thought of as the spirit of southern hospitality.
