Situated just east of Vass, the resort community of Woodlake boasts a pristine 1,130-acre private lake that is also the largest man-made lake in the state. The Two Woodlake Country Club golf courses have impressive origins, one designed by Arnold Palmer and one by Ellis Maples, father of Don Maples. The club's social center is the historic Oates House, constructed in 1792 in Fayetteville and painstakingly moved to its current site to offer a striking locale overlooking the lake.
